Two men to appear in court for alleged hare coursing incident in Crondall

Two men have been issued a summons to appear in court to face hare coursing charges.

William Frederick Light, aged 62, and 28-year-old William Joseph Light, both of Star Hill in Hartley Wintney, are due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21 May.

They will both face the following charges:

  • Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs under section 63 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
  • Being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs under section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.

This follows an incident on 28 October 2023. Police were called at 4.52pm to land in Crondall, with reports of suspected hare coursing in progress.
