The Rural Crime Team has launched an investigation into the death of a badger, found nailed to a tree in Denbigh.
The animal, protected under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992, was discovered in the Nant Glyn area of Denbigh by a member of the public walking in the area yesterday morning (August 18th).
It was found hanging around 10ft high from a tree, to which it had been nailed to by its feet.
PC Richard Smith of the Rural Crime Team said: “We can’t yet confirm what the cause of death of this animal was, but we have submitted the body for a post-mortem.
“Incredibly, badger persecution is still practiced in North Wales and we will continue to work with partners in tackling abhorrent incidents such as these.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact officers at the North Wales Police Rural Crime Team via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number Z121155. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
These evil parasites need to be caught and jailed for a long time, not only were they being very cruel to an innocent animal but also breaking the law. Personally I would get a team together and nail these scum from the nearest trees while still alive and make them suffer the way this badger did evil filth like this needs to be wiped off the planet.
