Police probe attack on Carlisle man during hunt

Police are investigating an alleged assault on a Carlisle man that occurred during a hunt.

It is alleged that the victim, who is a man in his 40s, was monitoring the Coniston Hunt on Saturday when he was assaulted by at least two men who hit him with sticks.

He suffered minor facial injuries in the attack that happened at about 1.30pm.

A spokeswoman for Cumbria police said: “A 72-year-old man from Windermere voluntarily attended Kendal police station yesterday to help officers with their enquiries.

“He has been released from custody and investigations will continue and the evidence will be assessed.”

  1. Hope this case is continued with and they get the evil bastards that did this, as I have said before these hunt people are scum and thugs. Had this happened to a child it would be all over the papers and on Crime Watch so why not this?????????????????It really is time these most evil of people were dealt with severly. They really are the scum of the earth.

  3. also just noticed 2 days earlier you said set upon by fifteen now its just 2. 2 days ago it was serious injury now its an ambulance for a minor injury (tax payers expense which watson is not) no mention of the abuse or blocking ambulance. your spin is not really spin your just full of it. as before bet this wont get on.
