Three hounds killed in A303 Tintinhull smash

THREE dogs were killed after being hit on the A303 near Tintinhull on Saturday morning.

The Seavington Hunt had met at Ash, near Martock, Somerset on Saturday morning. Around midday, hounds belonging to the hunt ran across the trunk road, a busy route across the county.

Eye witnesses reported hearing a “dull thud” as the hounds were hit by vehicles, and that three hounds were killed.

Police came across the collision involving two cars which had collided with the dogs shortly before 12noon.

No people were injured in the collision but three dogs were confirmed dead at the scene.

The accident happened on the main carriageway between Stoke Sub Hamdon and Tintinhull.

A Citroen Saxo and Citroen Xantia were both involved.

Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact them on 0845-4567000.

  1. Yet again proof these evil people can’t look after their dogs, not long since some were killed on a railway line. It says that three dogs were killed I though they were only allowed to go out with two dogs.
